According to "A Visual Encyclopedia of Animals" the Laughing Kookaburra is named for its very noisy, chuckling calls, the laughing kookaburra is a giant kingfisher that rarely eats fish. Instead, it pounces on reptiles such as snakes, small mammals, birds, and invertebrates.
